Children's Portraits in Sculpture

Out of all the portraiture, children's portraits in sculpture are the most challenging as it's not possible to have them sit still for long.

I take measurements of the head and many photos and also videos to capture a likeness. And I have worked on the portraits of the very young whilst they are playing and not necessarily sitting.

These pictures are of some samples of recent work I have done. The ceramic ones were done in the 90's and show the ceramic effect without any patination, only a wax sealant. as was asked by the client.

Thank you so much for the incredible bronze bust on our 3children, Scott, Lucy & hadley - Laura, you really have caught the essence of them so perfectly. David & I are thrilled with them and as our kids grow we will look at the busts and know they were captured a moment in time, which is very special indeed.
