To be honest: it is even above our expectations. It is Big, it is Amazing, it is Beautiful. We are stunned, thrilled and overwhelmed by the Piece of Art you made. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Please don 't make such beautyful things. We don 't know where to place the next items anymore. I am still trying to put my jaw back in place. It dropped 3 inches when I saw the head.

The West Wight Landscape Partnership is a lottery funded scheme to enhance the natural landscape and heritage of the Western side of the Isle of Wight. One of the projects was to encourage the Parishes, which comprise that area, to identify and celebrate a ‘Local Hero’. Brighstone Parish chose the Life Boat Men who manned the old wooden rowing boats that went to sea to rescue those stranded on stricken ships.

A committee was established to implement the project. They contacted various artists to submit their ideas of how a work of art could capture the bravery of these men who went to sea in such dangerous conditions in such small boats.

A number of artists, including Laura Lian, submitted their ideas to the committee. She sent a small model which gave a idea of how a larger plaque would look. The Committee felt that she had completely identified the atmosphere and detail of the project. The model surpassed the Committees expectations of how a relief plaque could show all the attributes that they wished to convey.

The Committee decide to commission a large bronze plaque inset in a stone obelisk. Laura came to Island, met with the Committee and the stonemasons. She was very pleasant to deal with and was open to suggestions.

The large plaque has now been completed and the Committee are totally satisfied with the result.

Commission of Paul McCartney bronze.

I commissioned the above mentioned work from Laura Lian earlier this year and am very pleased with the end product which I took possession of in Early October. (2010)

It makes a very good partner for the John Lennon bronze that also acquired from Laura sometime last year.

I commissioned Laura Lian to do bronze head statues of my 3 children who were aged 6,8 and 10 at the time following meeting with her having acquired one of Laura's excellent John Lennon limited editions.

Laura was painstaking in her attention to detail and the kids really enjoyed their trip to Laura's studio for their sitting and to see the clay work in progress. The final results were outstanding and all the kids were pleased with their statue and I know that as they change and grow up they will appreciate this reflection of a moment in time even more.

I fully recommend such a project to any parents considering, you will be in very safe hands with a genuinely gifted lady.

I wonder if there is any documentation, letter or anything from you, to support its Authenticity as 16/25 Ed. piece of your work. This could be useful if it comes to selling or even donating. Having said that I have no intention of ever parting with it. Once again I do appreciate your perfect professionalism in handling this transaction. Good to hear from you today. I didn't expect the call. The Lennon piece looks that much better "in person". The work is very peaceful and delicate for a bronze. You have certainly caught the spirit of the subject. Thanks for accenting the "New York City" on the shirt. Now to find "the" perfect place to present Mr. Lennon. We're having construction done in the upcoming months (probably later than earlier with the Town requirements, etc.) and I know the location. I have several sculptures of Laura's featured on this site and her own. I have to say they are my favourite pieces. When friends come to my home they always comment on the beauty of them. If you want something really majestic for your home I would strongly recommend a bronze as an investment. They are all very spiritual objects.

Dear Laura, I was so taken by Laura's Lennon I simply had to figure a way to own one. Being a Beatles fan & memorabilia collector, it was the perfect fit. The piece is even more beautiful than I had imagined. It now sits prominently in the entry way of my new home as "The Greeter " to both new & old friends, alike. My sixth sense gave me an added gift, my new friend Laura.

i love it,its better than the photo ...ive shown it to everyone that ive seen today ( and i mean everyone), and they love it too, but i had to go and buy a console table as i wanted john in my living room so people who visited would see it, so i haven't long been in. ive added photos.

Hopefully when i get payed off from my other house i can buy another sculpture from you.
