I was inspired to make this sculpture when I was watching Big Art on Channel 4
The program was bringing awareness to some sites across the country that would benefit from a large public art sculpture
This particular site is The Beckton Alps in Newham
I managed to contact one of the members of the team championing this idea and he was supportive of my idea and liked the completed sculpture
I felt the Beckton Alps hill, for which is contaminated needed something to inspire a positive feeling of Earth and how we treat our planet. For me it had to be an image of Mother Earth, all giving in her natural resources for which we need to learn not to exploit
